The Model 2000 was Gucci's entry into watchmaking in 1974, and the move was anything but tentative — it set a Guinness World Record as the top-selling watch of its time, with over a million units sold within two years. This revival arrives as part of the Cruise 2025 collection, reintroducing the original nameplate in bangle form, which is the key distinction from the leather-strap versions in the same family. At 24mm the watch reads as jewellery first, and the pink guilloché dial with its Interlocking G motif and mixed Roman numerals leans into that deliberately. The white resin inserts on the case sides break up the metal in a way that feels considered rather than decorative. The bangle closure is designed to open and shut cleanly, which matters on a piece worn this close to the wrist and changed as often as a fashion item tends to be.
