Stepping up in Hamilton's range
The Khaki Field's roots are in the watches Hamilton supplied to the American military from the Second World War onwards, and this variant distills that lineage into its cleanest form: a white dial with bold Arabic numerals, a railway-track minute ring at the perimeter, and nothing else asking for attention. The old-radium tint on the Super-LumiNova hands and indices is a considered choice — it reads as a patina the watch was born with rather than a period detail bolted on. At 38mm it sits without ceremony on most wrists, and the 8.3mm case keeps it flat enough to vanish under a shirt cuff. The green NATO with brown leather loops is the obvious pairing, adding some wear-in character of its own. The ETA F06.105 brings one practical addition worth knowing: a battery end-of-life indicator that flags the need for a change before the watch simply stops, which matters more in the field than it sounds in a shop.

Frequently asked questions, and things you should know about this watch
Can I swim with it?
Showering yes, swimming no. 50m covers splashes and brief immersion, but a swimming stroke generates well above the pressure that figure describes.
Will the glass scratch?
Unlikely. Sapphire is second only to diamond in hardness and shrugs off everyday marking.
Does it need a battery?
Yes. It is quartz, so expect a battery change every two to three years at a jeweller.
What size strap does it take?
20mm. Any strap of that width will fit, and on most modern watches quick-release bars make the swap a two-minute job with no tools.
Is it a men's or women's watch?
Listed as unisex, and at this size it suits any wrist that takes the dimensions.
Cheapest place to buy
Goldsmiths is the only UK retailer we track stocking this reference, so there is nothing to compare it against today.
Who are Goldsmiths?
Goldsmiths has been selling watches in Britain since 1778 and is part of the Watches of Switzerland Group, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange. They are an authorised dealer, so a watch comes with the manufacturer’s own warranty.
