Stepping up in the same colour and case shape
The Khaki Navy Scuba sits within Hamilton's long-running military and field collection, adapted here for water rather than land. The dive brief is taken seriously — a screw-down crown, a unidirectional rotating bezel with an aluminium insert, and a matte black dial with a dedicated minutes ring and 24-hour track inside it — but what marks this particular variant out is the acid-yellow strap and matching dial details, which make no attempt at restraint. The H-10 movement is worth a note. Built on an ETA base but tuned by Hamilton, it carries a Nivachron hairspring that resists magnetic fields and temperature changes better than conventional alloys, and it runs for 80 hours unwound — meaning a watch left off the wrist on Friday is still running Monday morning. At 40mm it is a comfortable, unfussy fit on most wrists, and the rubber strap, properly suited to water, will outlast leather in that environment without asking anything of its owner.

Frequently asked questions, and things you should know about this watch
Can I swim with it?
Yes. At 100m it is rated for swimming and snorkelling, though not for diving.
Will the glass scratch?
Unlikely. Sapphire is second only to diamond in hardness and shrugs off everyday marking.
Does it need a battery?
No. It is automatic — the motion of your wrist winds it, and there is no cell to replace.
How long does it run for when it's not worn?
About 80 hours fully wound — enough to sit off the wrist over a weekend and still be running.
What size strap does it take?
20mm. Any strap of that width will fit, and on most modern watches quick-release bars make the swap a two-minute job with no tools.
Is it a men's or women's watch?
Listed as men's, though at 40mm it sits in the range that suits anyone.
Cheapest place to buy
Goldsmiths is the only UK retailer we track stocking this reference, so there is nothing to compare it against today.
Who are Goldsmiths?
Goldsmiths has been selling watches in Britain since 1778 and is part of the Watches of Switzerland Group, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange. They are an authorised dealer, so a watch comes with the manufacturer’s own warranty.
