The Tonda PF Sport Chronograph arrived as Parmigiani's argument that a manufacture chronograph need not choose between the pool deck and the boardroom. The PF070 inside runs at 5 Hz — a frequency more common in dedicated racing instruments than in this calibre of dress-adjacent watchmaking — and carries COSC certification alongside a 65-hour power reserve, so the movement earns its sport credentials rather than borrowing them from the case shape. At 12.9mm the watch is not thin, but the proportions read as purposeful rather than bloated: the knurled bezel frames a silver dial whose clou triangulaire guilloché catches angled light in the way that flat sunray finishing cannot, and the London Grey of the sub-dials and minute rehaut ties the rubber strap back into the dial so that the whole thing reads as designed rather than assembled. That strap is worth attention on its own — the rubber has been finished to suggest textile, with saddle stitching along the edges, and the integrated fit means it lies flat rather than gapping at the lugs the way aftermarket rubber often does. The exhibition caseback gives a direct view of the movement, which at this level of in-house finishing is a reason to look rather than merely a feature to mention.
