Sixty pieces exist of this reference, which is sufficient to make the point about rarity without labouring it. The Dune dial is the reason collectors sought it out: twelve horizontal ripples, each hand-finished with a satin texture, built on a rhodium-plated brass base treated to hold a warm sand tone that shifts across the surface as the light moves. The small seconds sits at 1:30 rather than the conventional 6 o'clock position, finished with a sunray texture and coloured green — an arrangement that would read as arbitrary on a lesser dial but here works with the asymmetry of the double index at 12 and the heart-shaped tip on the hour hand, details that have been part of Speake-Marin's visual language long enough to feel considered rather than decorative. The "La City" case — a square profile with softened corners, satin-finished with polished edges — keeps the watch from reading as a conventional round sports piece, and at 9.2mm thick it sits flatter than its integrated bracelet might suggest. The in-house SMA03-TD is built around a tungsten micro-rotor, which allows that slimness while retaining a 52-hour reserve: the movement is visible through the AR-coated exhibition caseback, finished to a standard that rewards the look.
