The PRX began as a Tissot case shape in 1978, sat dormant for decades, and returned in 2021 as a properly integrated sport-luxury watch at a moment when the category was attracting considerable attention. This 40mm automatic is the variant with the waffle-textured dial — a deliberate distinction from the sunburst finish used on the quartz PRX, so the two read differently at a glance despite sharing the same silhouette. At 10.9mm thick, the case slides under a cuff with little protest, which is not a given for an integrated-bracelet watch at this diameter. The non-articulating first bracelet link does mean the watch sits across the wrist more like a 51mm lug-to-lug piece than the headline figure suggests, and buyers with narrower wrists should be aware of that before purchasing. On a medium to larger wrist it wears well, and the push-button deployant releases cleanly without fumbling. The Powermatic 80.111 underneath is an ETA 2824 lineage movement revised by the Swatch Group's engineers — the 80-hour reserve being the headline change, but the Nivachron hairspring the more durable one, offering meaningful resistance to magnetism without requiring a soft-iron cage between the movement and the dial.
