Stepping up in the same colour and case shape
The PRX case shape dates to 1978, and Tissot has been careful not to undo what made it work. This gradient dial variant, introduced in 2024, is the update worth noting: rather than the plain blue that preceded it, the dial shifts horizontally across the face, reading differently depending on angle and light, which pulls more out of a design that would otherwise be quiet. The movement inside is worth understanding. The Powermatic 80 is a developed version of ETA's 2824, fitted with a Nivachron antimagnetic hairspring and rated to ±5 seconds per day — tighter than a standard automatic. The 80-hour reserve is a practical advantage, not just a number: a watch left on the nightstand Friday evening is still running Monday morning. The exhibition caseback lets you see the rotor in motion, though the movement is not decorated for display. At 40mm with a 44mm lug-to-lug span, the PRX sits proportionately rather than overreaching. The integrated bracelet angles inward toward the wrist rather than dropping straight, which accounts for why reviewers find it wraps more naturally than the dimensions suggest. The push-button clasp releases cleanly, and the links lie without gaps.
