Stepping up in the same colour and case shape
Norqain launched the Independence line with a clear ambition: to establish a young Swiss manufacture by building watches that could be judged against established names on movement quality alone. The NN08S inside this skeleton is not simply an open-worked Sellita SW200-1 — it carries COSC certification, which holds it to a precision standard many Swiss watches at this tier do not bother meeting, and the architecture of the skeletonised plate is engineered around structural beams rather than pared-down solid bridges, which keeps it stiffer and more shock-resistant than most open dials suggest. The challenge any skeleton dial faces is legibility against its own movement, and Norqain addresses it directly: the hands are diamond-cut and filled with white X1 Super-LumiNova, and the indices are faceted so they catch light differently from the rotor and bridges behind them. In low light this separation matters considerably more than it does in daylight. The case finishing mixes brushed, polished and sandblasted surfaces, and a signature plate is screwed into the left flank — a small detail, but it gives the case an architectural quality that a uniform finish would not. At 11.8mm thick across 42mm of diameter, it sits lower than the open dial might lead you to expect.
