Named for the Swiss valley town where Tissot has worked since the nineteenth century, the Le Locle collection arrived in 2003 to mark the company's 150th anniversary, and this green-dialled variant is among the more striking members of the current line. The gold PVD case and two-tone bracelet are straightforward enough, but it is the dial that earns attention: a clous de Paris guilloché ground — small raised pyramids covering the entire surface — sits beneath the green, so the dial shifts and catches depending on the angle of light in a way a plain finish simply does not. The Powermatic 80.111 inside runs for 80 hours on a full wind, which means a watch left on a Friday night is still running Monday morning. The Nivachron balance spring resists magnetic fields without requiring soft-iron shielding inside the case, keeping the profile slim enough to sit neatly under a cuff. The movement is visible through the caseback, and it is worth looking at: this is a calibre designed to run long and accurately rather than to impress at a glance, but the finishing is correct for the price point and the architecture reads cleanly through the sapphire window.
