The PRC 100 Solar marks twenty years of the collection and, more significantly, the first time Tissot has put a solar movement inside it. The technology is worth understanding: rather than hiding photovoltaic cells beneath the dial — which forces a compromise on dial finishing — Lightmaster Solar gathers light through microscopic honeycomb-structured cells positioned under the sapphire crystal itself. That arrangement leaves the white mother-of-pearl dial entirely uninterrupted. Ten minutes in daylight replenishes roughly a day of running, and a full charge carries the watch for up to fourteen months without seeing light at all. When the reserve runs genuinely low, the seconds hand shifts to a four-second jump to flag it. At 34mm and just over 9mm thick, this sits neatly on a smaller wrist without the bulk that sports-rated watches often carry. The two-tone execution — carnation gold PVD against steel — runs consistently through both case and bracelet, so the combination reads as designed rather than assembled. The dodecagonal bezel, a signature of the PRC line since 2005, gives the case its structure without making the watch feel heavy.
