The Artelier Date underwent a thorough redesign for Watches and Wonders 2026, with Oris handing the brief to Lena Huwiler, a 24-year-old product design engineer. The intention was direct: pull the Artelier out of its more formal past and give it the kind of everyday, unisex personality that works as readily with a jacket as without one. The case shrank from 40mm to 38mm in the process, and the overall package became tighter and more contemporary for it. At 38mm with a 44mm lug-to-lug, it sits flush against almost any wrist without asserting itself, and 10.9mm of thickness keeps it under a cuff without the compromise most dress watches ask of you. The chocolate-black dial carries a radial texture and applied wedge indices — the enlarged marker at twelve the only interruption to an otherwise even rhythm — and the frameless date window above six reads cleanly without pulling the eye. The H-link bracelet is a better fit for this case shape than a leather strap would be: it keeps the watch feeling practical rather than ceremonial. The movement is a Sellita SW200-1 running beneath a custom Oris rotor; Oris specifies it at +7 to −12 seconds per day, which is the standard grade, and they are honest about that. The Incabloc shock absorbers fitted in place of the stock Novodiac are a quiet sensible choice for a watch that is genuinely meant to be worn daily, which is exactly what the rest of the design implies it should be.
